HIT (Shenzhen) Education Exhibition

HKBU strongly supports the internationalisation of education in the Greater Bay Area

Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) held the 3rd Overseas Partner Universities and Colleges Education Exhibition on 3-4 November 2023 at its Shenzhen Campus, with a strong lineup of colleges and institutions, including several world-renowned universities. Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), as a friendly partner of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), was one of the only two invited universities from Hong Kong.

 

In the afternoon of 3 November, HKBU participated in a sharing session on the theme of studying abroad, making authoritative interpretations with representatives from institutions and organisations from various countries on the higher education system, the characteristics and trends of higher education in China and abroad, as well as the trends and changes in studying abroad for Chinese students. Representatives from HKBU University Engagement Office (UEO) analysed the deep-rooted reasons why the fever of studying in Hong Kong soared after the epidemic in light of the current situation, once again highlighting the advantages of studying in Hong Kong.

On the following day, HKBU walked into the exhibition with a carefully set up poster wall displaying all kinds of information about the University at a glance. The booth was crowded with students who came to enquire about the University. Representatives from UEO and professors from the Faculty of Science answered all kinds of questions patiently at the booth. In the presentation session of the exhibition, the persons in charge of each participating university took turns to deliver talks, and HKBU’s session attracted many students on the spot, providing detailed information on the curriculum settings of various majors, scholarship applications, tuition fees, admission criteria, etc., which are of common concern to students. In general, most of the students majoring in science and engineering and were strongly interested in the Ph.D. programme at HKBU.

 

HKBU will continue to expand cooperation channels, build bridges of communication, and commit itself to wider and deeper collaborations with more universities and colleges to sustain its high-quality development.
