On 20 May 2026, a delegation from Shandong Normal University (SDNU) visited Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) for in-depth exchanges on academic research and talent cultivation. This visit reflects the continuous deepening of educational cooperation between Shandong and Hong Kong.
The delegation was led by Mr. Feng Jikang, Party Secretary of SDNU. HKBU participants included: Prof. Martin DF WONG, Provost; Prof. LIU Jiming, Associate Provost; and Prof. ZHU Furong, Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies) of the Faculty of Science.
The symposium was held at SWT 505, Shaw Tower, HKBU. In his welcome address, Prof. Martin DF WONG stated that HKBU has consistently upheld the Whole Person Education philosophy. This year marks HKBU's 70th anniversary, and the University has achieved breakthroughs in Chinese medicine, communication studies, and artificial intelligence. He expressed the hope to deepen cooperation with SDNU in humanities and social sciences, education disciplines, and faculty-student exchanges. A video introducing HKBU was then screened.
Mr. Feng Jikang thanked HKBU for its warm reception and stated that SDNU enjoys a high reputation in education, Chinese language and literature, and other disciplines. He hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in academic research and talent cultivation, exploring a path of complementary strengths. During the free exchange session, both sides reached multiple consensuses on academic research cooperation and faculty-student exchanges.
The visit ended in a friendly atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation.
