Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and Harbin Conservatory of Music Visit HKBU
On March 21, Mr Jiang Tonghe, a representative of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, and Prof Guan Jian, Party Committee Secretary of the Harbin Conservatory of Music, led a delegation to HKBU. They were warmly received by HKBU representatives, including Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary, and Prof Johnny Poon, Associate Vice-President (Interdisciplinary Research) and Founding Dean, School of Creative Arts. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaborations in music, paving new pathways for artistic and cultural exchanges between the two regions.
Qingdao University of Science and Technology Explores Collaborative Opportunities
On April 17, a delegation led by Prof Chen Kezheng, President of Qingdao University of Science and Technology, visited HKBU. The HKBU delegation, headed by Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary included several faculty experts from the Faculty of Science. During the meeting, Prof Wong Kong Chu, Associate Dean, Faculty of Science provided a detailed introduction to the latest research developments of the Faculty of Science. The two sides held constructive discussions on potential collaborative directions, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Beijing Institute of Technology Delegation Visits HKBU
On April 25, a delegation led by Prof Wei Yiming, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), visited HKBU. As members of the Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance, the two institutions engaged in a meeting represented by Prof. Terence Lau, Interim Chief Innovation Officer, Prof. Liu Jiming, Associate Vice-President (Research Development), and other representatives from HKBU. They discussed potential transdisciplinary collaboration with representatives from BIT. This meeting reinforced the relationship between the two universities and created new opportunities for talent development in both Beijing and Hong Kong.
These exchange activities not only enhanced mutual understanding between HKBU and mainland institutions but also outlined a broad vision for future cross-regional and transdisciplinary collaboration.
