On 3 June 2026, a delegation from Northwest University (NWU) visited Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) for in-depth exchanges on student exchange, joint training, and academic research.
The delegation was led by Mrs. Zhang Qing, Deputy Party Secretary of NWU. HKBU participants included: Prof. Martin DF WONG, Provost, along with other HKBU colleagues.
The symposium was held at SWT 803, Shaw Tower, HKBU, and was hosted by Ms. Yin Yu from University Engagement Office. In his welcome address, Prof. Martin DF WONG stated that HKBU has consistently upheld the Whole Person Education philosophy. This year marks HKBU's 70th anniversary, and the University has achieved breakthroughs in creative media, Chinese medicine, and artificial intelligence. He expressed the hope to deepen cooperation with NWU in talent cultivation and research innovation. A video introducing HKBU was then screened.
Mrs. Zhang Qing thanked HKBU for its warm reception and stated that Northwest University, as a national "Double First-Class" university, enjoys a high reputation in archaeology, geology, and other fields. He hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in academic research and talent exchange. During the free exchange session, both sides engaged in lively discussions on student exchange, joint training, and research commercialisation, reaching multiple consensuses.
The visit ended in a friendly atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation.
