On 3 June 2026, a delegation from Northwest University (NWU) visited Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) for in-depth exchanges on student exchange, joint training, and academic research.

The delegation was led by Mrs Zhang Qing, Deputy Party Secretary of NWU. HKBU participants included Professor Martin Wong, Provost of HKBU, along with other HKBU colleagues.

The meeting was held at Room SWT803, Shaw Tower. In his welcome address, Professor Martin Wong stated that HKBU has consistently upheld the Whole Person Education philosophy. This year marks HKBU’s 70th anniversary, and the University has achieved breakthroughs in creative media, Chinese medicine, and artificial intelligence. He expressed the hope to deepen cooperation with NWU in talent cultivation and research innovation. A video introducing HKBU was then screened.

Mrs Zhang Qing thanked HKBU for its warm reception and stated that Northwest University, as a national “Double First-Class” university, enjoys a high reputation in archaeology, geology, and other fields. She hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen collaboration in academic research and talent exchange. During the free exchange session, both sides engaged in lively discussions on student exchange, joint training, and research commercialisation, and reached consensus on multiple areas.

The visit ended in a friendly atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation.
