The Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance (BHUA), established in April 2018, unites prestigious universities from Beijing and Hong Kong with the aim of advancing academic and research excellence in higher education. By fostering closer ties between the two regions, the alliance capitalises on the distinct research capabilities and expertise of its member institutions to promote collaborative opportunities and elevate educational standards. Its initiatives include joint research projects, strategic partnership alignments, and student and scholar exchanges, which collectively enhance academic integration and innovation. Serving as the secretariat of the BHUA in the Academic Year 2025/26, HKBU plays a pivotal role in coordinating efforts, strengthening connections, and contributing to the alliance’s mission of driving meaningful advancements in education and research.

Established in November 2016, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance (GHMUA) draws together renowned universities across these regions to nurture innovative leaders and drive regional progress. By advancing its vision of a "One-hour Academic Circle," the alliance fosters deeper integration and collaboration. The Univeristy actively engages in these efforts, contributing to the alliance’s commitment to excellence in academic and professional development.

Since its foundation in November 2018, the Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance (SHUA) has strengthened ties between Shanghai and Hong Kong by promoting talent cultivation, research partnerships, and advancements in education. Comprising 16 distinguished institutions from Shanghai and Hong Kong, the alliance benefits from the active participation of HKBU, which helps to facilitate meaningful collaborations and shared initiatives across the two cities.

Launched in 2021 by Nanjing University, the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (JHMUA) is devoted to fostering cooperation across the Yangtze River Delta and the Greater Bay Area. Its focus lies in accelerating progress in key areas including talent cultivation, research innovation, and technological advancement. Formed in December 2023 under the aegis of the Shandong Provincial Government, the Shandong-Hong Kong-Macao Innovation Alliance (SHMIA) serves as a hub for strengthening academic ties and research exchanges between institutions in Shandong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The involvement of the University supports the alliance’s mission of fostering balanced, innovation-led development across the three regions.

First convened in October 2015 by 47 institutions, the University Alliance of Belt and Road (UABR) has expanded its network to over 170 universities internationally, advancing global education initiatives and preparing future leaders with a transnational outlook. HKBU plays an instrumental role, actively contributing to the alliance’s objectives of enhancing academic collaboration and addressing global educational priorities.

Created in May 2015 by Xi’an Jiaotong University, the University Alliance of The Silk Road (UASR) connects over 100 institutions from more than 22 countries. Guided by the theme "Jointly Building an Education Cooperation Platform and Promoting Regional Development," the alliance fosters collaboration in academic exchanges, talent development, research, and cultural communication among universities along the "New Silk Road Economic Belt." With its reach spanning Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and East Africa, the alliance aligns with Hong Kong Baptist University’s commitment to interdisciplinary cooperation and global progress.

Since its inception in July 2017, the China-AESAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of Universities has unified over 42 institutions to collaboratively explore innovative models and methods for entrepreneurship education. The alliance seeks to strengthen the talent training system and improve the overall quality of talent development, particularly focusing on nurturing young talents with an international perspective and competitiveness within its member institutions.

Launched in January 2024, the World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA) connects over 115 institutions globally to foster collaboration and advance digital education. By promoting the digital transformation of education, it aims to establish sustainable international cooperation and ensure inclusive, high-quality learning opportunities for all. Hong Kong Baptist University actively supports the alliance’s innovative initiatives, contributing insights to drive impactful progress in digital learning.

Established in October 2024, the World University Innovation Alliance (WUSIA) connects 56 universities and 21 industry partners from 19 countries to promote collaborative approaches to innovation and talent development. Through participation in initiatives like talent exchange programmes and innovation forums, the University enhances the alliance’s work in empowering young minds and fostering innovation on a global scale.
