HKBU’s School of Business is embarking on a transformative journey under the leadership of its new Dean, Professor Zhang Han. He shares a forward-thinking vision for nurturing a new generation of professionals who are not just users of technology but also ethical and creative masters.
“We prepare our students not just to use AI, but to complement it with uniquely human skills. For example, creativity, ethics, and leadership.” says Professor Zhang.
To realise this vision, the School of Business is enhancing its curriculum and has proposed an exciting slate of new programmes designed for the future economy:
An undergraduate major in Wealth & Asset Management;
A taught postgraduate programme in Family Office Management;
An Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in collaboration with the School of Communication, featuring AI-powered social media communication, making it unique in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area;
Joint postgraduate accounting programme with Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), launching in fall 2025;
Relaunch and expansion of Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme.
Professor Zhang’s leadership is guided by a simple yet powerful motto: “Stay grounded, and hard work will pay off.” His goal is to build the School of Business into a world-renowned brand, recognised for its research excellence, and to foster a proud and connected community for all staff and students.
