HKBU ranked 55th globally in the inaugural Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings released by Times Higher Education (THE). The ranking result is testimony to HKBU’s excellence and expertise in transdisciplinary education and research, reflected in its commitment to translating its innovative discoveries into tangible benefits for society.

THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings is the first of its kind to measure universities’ contribution and commitment to Interdisciplinary Science, recognising that the world’s pressing problems can be solved only with insights from a range of scholarly fields. It measures university performance in three areas: inputs (funding); process (measures of success, facilities, administrative support and promotion); and outputs (publications, research quality and reputation).

As one of Asia’s finest institutions of higher education, HKBU has been consistently strengthening its transdisciplinary teaching, learning and research initiatives.
