On 1 October, HKBU held a flag-raising ceremony on campus to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In his address, Mr Paul Poon, Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU, highlighted the nation’s rapid development and rising international profile in recent years. He emphasised that universities, as the nation’s strongest support, should enhance their investments in education to cultivate new generations of talent to drive the nation’s further development.

The flag-raising ceremony brought together the HKBU community, including Council and Court members, senior management team members, staff, alumni and students of the University to celebrate the National Day, providing an opportunity for everyone to share at this special occasion the joy and pride of the nation's journey towards prosperity.
