Exciting news! Congratulations to two teams of Journalism students from the English student newspaper, The Young Reporter of the Department of Journalism at the School of Communication of HKBU, who have recently won two awards at the first Yahoo! Hong Kong Student Journalist Award. HKBU also secured the 1st Runner-up Award in the competition.

Nansen Chen Yik-nam, Tricia Li Sin-tung, and James Modesto were awarded the Outstanding News Report Award - Environmental Protection, Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance (ESG) in the English category for their report "Hong Kong recycling industry faces uncertainty over proposed waste charging scheme", while Chu Yuqi, Mo Chengqi and Shuai Juncong, received the Outstanding News Report Award - Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in the English category for their article titled "Sweltering summers in Hong Kong challenge residents of cramped subdivided flats”.
